Collection: ALEXANDRA DENAT

A multidisciplinary designer and artist, Alexandra Denat lives and works in Nîmes. She divides her time between her artistic practice and developing her independent object-making company, Hors-d'Œuvre. Her work is inspired by Japanese Hitsuzendo: she explores a line without object, free from memory and anticipation, and considers repetition as a space for variation. Her research is part of a dialogue where gesture and material respond to each other in a spontaneous expression. Her immersions in art workshops gave birth to HORS-D'OEUVRE, a self-publishing structure conceived as a living, hybrid, and intuitive space where traditional know-how and experimental formal languages meet. Created in her studio or in collaboration with artisans, her pieces are designed as everyday artifacts, at the crossroads of function and free form.
