Collection: CARLÈS AND DEMARQUET

It's like a relic in the Calanques. Like a mystery without surprises, an undatable artifact, past or future, but whose intimate essence we know within ourselves, without naming it. It's like the daily presence of a dream world, like tracing the archaeological map of a fantasized, enduring, and mineral civilization. Drawing from the shared foundation of an idealized antiquity, the Carlès Demarquet workshop presents a series of fossilized objects whose use, intuitive without being obvious, is more suggested than imposed. Shaping wood to blur its essence, whether animal or vegetable, coral, reef, or shell, they strive to render it both ancient and timeless. From their Marseille workshop, the two artisans perpetuate a woodworking tradition deeply rooted in the Mediterranean way of life. They design, in unique pieces or limited series, modern, timeless, sun-drenched, and aquatic furniture and objects. Like a panorama of a forgotten island, an underwater ark where lost time still resides.
