Collection: CÉLINE MARTINANT

Céline Martinant, born in 1993 in Vichy, has been fascinated by the volcanoes of Auvergne since childhood. From 2011, she explored the transformation of volcanic rocks as part of her design studies. She conducted experiments on the fusion of minerals subjected to heat, revealing unexpected metamorphoses. This discovery became an artistic turning point, inspiring her to exploit the creative potential of lava. In collaboration with Jean Sembel de Andesite, a specialist in volcanic stones, she further developed her research. In 2018, they co-founded the studio "Un Air de Croûte Terrestre" (A Breath of Earthly Crust), dedicated to creating unique works and decorations. Céline Martinant's innovative approach goes beyond enameling or ceramics: she recreates a material from lava returned to its molten state. Each piece evokes the primal power of the earth, with organic textures and metallic nuances. The pieces created are works blending sophistication and primitivism, telling the age-old story of fire and rocks. She is recognized for her avant-garde mineral design. SOME OF HIS PIECES HAVE BEEN INTEGRATED INTO THE COLLECTIONS OF THE MOBILIER NATIONAL. RENOWNED INTERIOR DESIGNERS ALSO ENTRUST HIM WITH THEIR EXCEPTIONAL PROJECTS.
