COLLECTION: SOPHIE LOU JACOBSEN
SOPHIE LOU JACOBSEN, FRENCH-AMERICAN DESIGNER CURRENTLY ESTABLISHED IN NEW YORK, INITIATED HER OWN STUDIO IN 2019. HER INITIAL INTEREST WAS IN EVERYDAY USE OBJECTS, WITH A PREDOMINATION FOR THE USE OF GLASS AS A MEDIUM, THUS EXPLORING THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE OBJECT AND THE USER. THE GENESIS OF HIS WORK IS BASED ON THE BELIEF THAT OBJECTS HAVE AN INTRINSIC POWER TO IMPROVE THE MOOD OF THEIR USERS THROUGH THEIR FORM AND FUNCTION. FOCUSED ON THE SIMPLICITY OF OBJECTS AND RITUALS, IT STRIVES TO TRANSFORM THEM IN A SURPRISING AND PLEASANT WAY IN ORDER TO ENRICH THE USER'S EXPERIENCE. CONVINCED THAT THE OBJECTS AROUND US CAN AND SHOULD BE IMPROVED OF A CERTAIN POETRY, SHE WORKS TO CREATE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN BEINGS AND OBJECTS BASED ON MUTUAL RESPECT. MORE RECENTLY, SOPHIE HAS EXPLORED HER SCOPE OF EXPLORATION TO INCLUDE LIGHTING AND MORE IMPOSING PIECES, OFFERED IN LIMITED EDITIONS.
