Collection: Sophie Vaidie

Sophie Vaidie has been a ceramist for over 20 years. Her artistic journey led her to explore different techniques and to be inspired by various cultures, especially during a trip to Asia in 2011. It was in China, Korea and Japan, that she had the opportunity to rub shoulders with master ceramists such as Seung-Ho Yang or Kato Hiroshige, who enriched his know-how and expanded his creative horizons. Back in France, she perfected herself in the modeling under the direction of Patricia Vieljeux, then explores the pinched technique with Laetitia Pineda. These two artistic approaches have deeply marked him, orienting him towards a creative philosophy which fully corresponds to him. The slowness and precision required by these techniques allow it to explore the sculpture of forms, seeking a subtle balance between the aesthetics and the functionality of its creations. Sophie creates unique pieces that aim to arouse emotion through harmonious curves and balanced proportions. Whether it is a bowl, a vase, a cut or a lamp, she likes to play with scales and shapes, inspired by both ancient and traditional forms to design timeless works. She likes to create everyday objects filled with emotion and poetry.
