ALEXANDRA DENAT

DESIGNER AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST, ALEXANDRA DENAT
She lives and works in Nîmes. She divides her time between
HIS ARTISTIC PRACTICE AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIS INDEPENDENT HOUSE OF OBJECTS, HORS-D'OEUVRE. HIS WORK
INSPIRED BY JAPANESE HITSUZENDŌ: SHE EXPLORES A
A DRAWING WITHOUT OBJECT, FREE FROM MEMORY AND ANTICIPATION, AND CONSIDER REPETITION AS A SPACE OF
VARIATION. HIS RESEARCH IS PART OF A DIALOGUE WHERE
GESTURE AND MATTER RESPOND TO EACH OTHER IN A SPONTANEOUS WRITING. HER IMMERSIONS IN ART WORKSHOPS HAVE
GAVE BIRTH TO HORS-D'OEUVRE, A SELF-PUBLISHING STRUCTURE CONCEIVED AS A LIVING, HYBRID SPACE
AND INTUITIVE, WHERE TRADITIONAL SKILLS MEET
AND EXPERIMENTAL FORMAL LANGUAGES. CARRIED OUT IN
HIS WORKSHOP OR IN COLLABORATION WITH CRAFTSMEN, HIS
PIECES ARE DESIGNED AS EVERYDAY ARTIFACTS, AT THE CROSSROADS OF USE AND FREE FORM.
