Sophie Vaidie

“IN THE BEGINNING, THERE WAS A NEED TO DO, WITH THE HANDS, THE TOUCH, THE SENSES. THEN CAME THE DESIRE TO CREATE AND IMAGINE OBJECTS TO ACCOMPANY DAILY DAY THROUGH A TIMELESS AND POETIC DIMENSION.

MY RELATIONSHIP TO THE EARTH STARTED MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO. IT WAS A LONG INNER PATH BEFORE I IMAGINED DEVOTING TO IT TOTALLY.

MY WORK IS ABOVE ALL A CONSTANT SEARCH FOR BALANCE AND A CAPACITY FOR RENEWAL. IT IS THE RESULT OF FORMAL RESEARCH, OF THE HARMONIOUS RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CURVE AND THE LINE. THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE FORM AND THE SPACE THAT IT DRAWS AROUND IT. THE RIGHT PROPORTIONS, THE DETAIL OF A CURVE OR A LINE ARE THE CONDUCTING STREAMS OF MY CREATIONS.

NEXT COMES TECHNIQUE. IT ALLOWS ME TO REGISTER THE FORM IN THE EARTH. MY TRAINING WAS ENRICHED WITH VERY DIFFERENT CERAMISTS, ALLOWING ME TO EXTEND MY KNOWLEDGE AND TO CHOOSE MY AXIS OF CREATION CONSCIOUSLY. FIRST TRAINED IN THE TOUR, I WAS THEN ATTRACTED TO MODELING AND PARTICULARLY PINCE. THIS BRINGS ME TODAY GREAT FLEXIBILITY AND FREEDOM IN MY CREATION.

MY CREATIVITY IS FEEDED BY MY TRAVEL OBSERVATIONS, MY INNER REFLECTIONS, MY NEAR ENVIRONMENT BUT ALSO ON MY WORK AS AN INTERIOR ARCHITECT AND ESPECIALLY ON THE ENCOUNTERS MADE THROUGHOUT MY USE OF THE EARTH.

I LIKE WORKING ON DIFFERENT SCALES, FROM THE USUAL BOWL TO MORE DECORATIVE OBJECTS LIKE VASES OR LAMPS... CREATING EVERYDAY OBJECTS FILLED WITH EMOTIONS AND POETRY."
