SOLID OAK STOOL

SOLID OAK STOOL

Taxes included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

SKU: DV6725-DV6726

Sculptural stool in solid oak wood, designed by HEIM+VILADRICH. Crafted from a single block of wood, the stool is entirely carved from the mass, revealing the natural grain, knots, and cracks inherent to the material.

The deliberately fragmented geometric design plays with the cut lines and internal tensions of the wood, creating a silhouette that is both raw and architectural. Natural slits and openings fully contribute to the aesthetic of the piece, asserting its unique and expressive character. At the crossroads of design and sculpture, this stool can be used both as a seat and as a decorative piece.

Finished with natural wax and oil. Signed piece.

HEIM+VILADRICH

HEIM+VILADRICH

HEIM+VILADRICH IS A DESIGN STUDIO FOUNDED IN 2022 BY LAURIANE HEIM AND JOHAN VILADRICH. THEIR APPROACH IS DEEPLY ROOTED IN CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS, BASED ON METICULOUS RESEARCH BOTH IN THE USE OF LOCAL MATERIALS AND IN THE MASTERY AND ELEVATION OF THE TECHNIQUES EMPLOYED. THROUGH THEIR VARIOUS PROJECTS, THE DESIGNERS HAVE DEVELOPED A COHERENT VISUAL LANGUAGE. THEIR RIGOROUS ATTENTION EXTENDS BOTH TO THE OVERALL COHESION OF A PROJECT AND TO THE DETAILS THAT COMPOSE IT. THE DUO MAINTAINS A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PRODUCTION PROCESS, WITH EACH PIECE CRAFTED IN THEIR WORKSHOP NEAR MONTPELLIER. THEY THUS STRIVE FOR AN ECONOMY OF GESTURE, HARMONIZING MATERIAL AND PROCESS, RESULTING IN PIECES THAT ARE BOTH RAW AND SOPHISTICATED. THEIR PRACTICE IS TRANSVERSAL AND TAKES SHAPE THROUGH THE DESIGN OF SPACES, PUBLICATIONS, AND OBJECTS. BY OSCILLATING BETWEEN COMMERCIAL AND SELF-INITIATED PROJECTS, THE INTERPLAY AND BLENDING OF DIFFERENT FIELDS ALLOW THE DESIGNERS TO IDENTIFY AND REINTERPRET THE SINGULAR POTENTIAL OF EACH PROJECT.
