Sauvage Ulysses

“IT WAS DURING ARTS STUDIES THAT I BECAME INTERESTED IN ARTISANAL GLASS WORK. AFTER TRAINING AS A SCIENTIFIC GLASS BLOWER IN 2018 AND A FEW MONTHS IN A BUSINESS, I CREATED ULYSSE SAUVAGE IN 2020. MY WORK QUESTIONS THE LIMITS AND CODES OF BOROSILICATE GLASS BLOWING, A HIGH QUALITY AND VERY SOLID GLASS IT IS WORKED WITH A TORCH AND USED PRINCIPALLY FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF LABORATORY EQUIPMENT.
TODAY INSTALLED IN A WORKSHOP IN PARIS, I MAKE EVERYDAY OBJECTS.

I GRANT PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE TO RESPECT FOR THE RAW MATERIAL. I LIKE THE IDEA OF LETTING THE OBJECT FORM BY ITSELF, BY PROVIDING AS FEW PHYSICAL CONSTRAINTS AS POSSIBLE. EACH PIECE IS UNIQUE, AND WHILE THE SHAPES ARE SIMILAR, THEY EACH HAVE THEIR SPECIAL FEATURES.

I WORK EXCLUSIVELY WITH GLASS FROM EUROPE AND MY PACKAGING IS MOSTLY PRODUCED FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS."
