Collection: MUSSET WORKSHOP

ATELIER MUSSET IS THE FRUIT OF THE LIFE AND DESIRE TO TRANSMISSION OF ITS CREATOR, TIMOTHÉE MUSSET. AFTER HAVING SPENT HIS CHILDHOOD IN THE OUTDOORS, IN THE HEART OF NATURE, HE DECIDED TO FOLLOW A TOUR OF FRANCE WITH THE COMPAGNONS DU DEVOIR TO LEARN CARPENTRY FOR 8 YEARS, WORKING WITH ANCESTRAL WOODS OF HISTORICAL MONUMENTS.
AFTER THIS RICH EXPERIENCE, TIMOTHÉE WORKED IN A DESIGN OFFICE FOR A FEW YEARS BEFORE RETURNING TO HIS PASSION FOR WOOD AND CREATING THE MUSSET WORKSHOP TO SHARE HIS KNOW-HOW. IT FOCUSES MAINLY ON THE VALORIZATION OF THIS OFTEN NEGLECTED MATERIAL, BY SUBLIMATING ANCIENT WOODS WHILE HIGHLIGHTING THEIR DEFECTS WHICH ARE PART OF THEIR INTRINSIC BEAUTY. FOR HIM, THE RECOVERY OF THESE WOODS LOADED WITH HISTORY IS ESSENTIAL, BECAUSE THEY HAVE CROSSED THE CENTURIES AND STILL HAVE A LOT TO TELL. TRANSFORMING RAW AND MASSIVE MATERIAL INTO A MORE POETIC DIMENSION,
TIMOTHÉE DESIGNS A COLLECTION OF CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE WITH SIMPLICITY OF SHAPES, CAREFULLY HANDCRAFTED IN SOLID WOOD, REVEALING A NATURAL LACE SHAPE. ITS OBJECTIVE IS TO REVITALIZE WHAT SEEMS OUT OF FASHION BY EMPHASIZING THAT TIME SCULPTS THE MATERIAL DOWN TO THE LEAST DETAIL, THUS OFFERING UTILITARY PIECES WITH A SCULPTURAL TENDENCY IN A HARMONY BETWEEN THE ANCIENT AND THE CONTEMPORARY.
